Simple Fashion Tips To Level Up Your Outfits

1. Ensure your clothes fit you perfectly

Wearing skirts and dresses that drag on the ground or pants that bunch up in awkward places won’t make you feel comfortable and confident in your own skin. Always try on your clothes before buying to make sure they give you the fit you want and find a good tailor to help your clothes fit better and more comfortable on you.

2. Create a capsule wardrobe

Include some staple clothing in your closet like a basic t-shirt, a pair of jeans that fit beautifully on you, a little black dress, some button-down shirts, leather jacket or a denim jacket. Having a capsule wardrobe of basic and timeless pieces will greatly help with putting together stylish looks so that you can always look your best.

3. Discover your personal style

Now this doesn’t necessarily mean that you need to find only one style or aesthetic that suit you, there may potentially be a number of styles that could suit you. Its all about experimenting to see what looks amazing on you and makes you feel comfortable in your own skin. Everyone’s body and preferences is so take your time to play with different silhouettes, patterns and colour to discover what makes you feel like your best self.

4. Don’t be afraid to experiment with colour

If you’re feeling hesitant about adding some colour into your outfit, try wearing just one coloured piece and for the rest of your look wear clothing with neutral shades and tones. When you become more adventurous, you’ll be wanting to add more bold pieces and experiment with combining different colours with each other to add that extra spice into your outfit.

5. Be a more mindful shopper

Like a lot of people, I love to shop and would end up buying so much clothing that it becomes harder to construct an outfit that I feel confident in. Make sure to buy clothing that you will wear over and over again and that you know how to style that piece with other pieces of clothing you already own or just limit your shopping. Having a wardrobe filled with clothing you love and are familiar with will make styling your outfits become second nature. Remember owning designer clothing and having 3 wardrobes worth of clothes doesn’t magically make you fashionable, it’s all about knowing what looks good on you and how to style your clothing in multiple different ways to get the best use out of them.

6. Layering and accessories

If you’re feeling as though your outfit is underwhelming add some accessories add a couple of necklaces on top of each other to fill up that empty space around your chest or wear a belt to balance out your look. Layering your outfits can also help step up your entire look making you look put together and is especially beneficial for the colder seasons. Aww no its too cold to wear your favourite maxi dress, wear some thermal leggings underneath, a button up shirt on top of the dress and a sweater vest. Ta-dah not only do you look stylish but you also won’t be freezing your ass off in the cold.
